Abstract

Pneumonia is defined as inflammation of the lung parenchyma, distal to the terminal bronchioles, which include the respiratory bronchioles and alveoli, and causes consolidation of lung tissue and local gas exchange disturbances. Based on the clinical picture, pneumonia is divided into typical pneumonia and atypical pneumonia or pneumonia that is not typical. Pneumonia is the result of infection when the lung's defense mechanisms are damaged or the body's immunity decreases. This project uses a design with questionnaires in the form of pre-test and post-test with 20 questions. First, we give a pre-test manually by filling in the form that we share. Then we gave the counseling and after we gave the counseling, we distributed the post test form to the participants. We analyzed the results of the pre-test and post-test that we got from the participants. Health education to the community is the key to success so that public awareness and knowledge increases. Increased knowledge will make people realize that pneumonia as one of the upper respiratory tract infections will become serious if not handled properly.
