Author Guidelines

Review of Manuscript Process: Preliminary Review

  1. Read the abstract to ensure that you have the expertise to review articles. Don't be afraid to say no to review articles if there are good reasons
  2. .2. Read the information provided by the journal for review so that you will know: a) Type of manuscript (eg, review article, technical notes, original research) and journal expectations / parameters for the type of text; b) Other journal requirements that must be met by the manuscript (for example, length, citation style).
  3. . Know the scope and mission of the journal to ensure the topic of the writing matches the scope.
  4.  Ready? Read the entire manuscript at first to see if the paper is worthy of publication - just make a few notes on the main issues if there are: a) Are questions about interest sound and significant ?; b) Is the design and / or method used adequate or is it flawed? (for original research papers); c) Are the results large enough to be considered for publication (or are only two or more variables presented or the results are so flawed that the paper cannot be published)?
  5. What was your initial impression? If the paper is:

a)      Acceptable only with small comments / questions: solid, interesting, and new; sound methodology used; results are presented well; the discussion is well formulated with Interpretation based on scientific reasoning, etc., with only a few comments / questions, immediately move to writing a review;

b)      The defect is so severe that you must reject it: move directly to write a review;

c)      Mix somewhere in the "revision and resend" range to "received with major changes" or you are not sure whether it should be rejected or not: This might be a decent paper, but there is a big problem that needs to be addressed
